President Ranil Wickramasinghe, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of State for Social Empowerment Mr. Anupa Pascual, Secretary of the Ministry Mr. Neil Bandara Hapuhinna, Director of the National Secretariat for Persons with Disabilities C. Ms. Anuradha Herath and representatives of organizations representing the disabled community participated.
A memorandum containing special requests prepared by the National Assembly for persons with disabilities was handed over to the President.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe said there that a special program will be prepared for people with disabilities.
He also said that he has already instructed Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena to prepare a report in this regard along with the Minister of State for Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment, Minister of Education, Minister of Health, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.
He added that after submitting the report to the Cabinet, proposals based on it will be included in the next budget proposals.
